Pioneer’s State Fair of Texas Sweepstakes
Official Rules

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL, AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

The Pioneer’s State Fair of Texas Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is sponsored by C.H. Guenther & Son LLC located at 2201 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78215 (“Sponsor”).  Sponsor and its licensees, parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors and assigns are referred to throughout these Official Rules as “C.H. Guenther”.

  1. Eligibility

Entries for the Sweepstakes may be submitted by any legal resident of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia, unless otherwise excluded herein or prohibited by law, who is not a minor in his or her state of residence and is at least 18 years old at the time of entry. Employees of C.H. Guenther & Son LLC or any other companies associated with the promotion of the Sweepstakes, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and advertising and promotion agencies, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee, are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

  1. Agreement to Official Rules

Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.

  1. Sweepstakes Period

The Sweepstakes begins on August 15, 2022 at 12:01AM CT and continues through September 15, 2022 at 11:59PM CT (the “Sweepstakes Period”)

  1. How to Enter

To enter the Sweepstakes, each entrant must do the following during the Sweepstakes Period: (i) scan the QR code located on certain Pioneer State Fair of Texas displays, and (ii) input the required identifying information including name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number into the intake form (an “Entry”).  Only entries made in accordance with the requirements and timing set forth in these Official Rules will be eligible to win the Sweepstakes.  All properly submitted entries will be automatically entered into the Sweepstakes.

Each person submitting an Entry in accordance with these Official Rules will be considered a “Participant”.  Limit one Entry per Participant.  Entries in excess of the stated limits may be disqualified.  Sponsor is not responsible for Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, ineligible, and/or incomplete due to mail delivery service, computer or electronic malfunction, or other error.  Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entry, at its sole discretion, that is not in compliance with these Official Rules.  Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.  Each Entry must be made in accordance with these Official Rules, including the Content Restrictions described below, and, if applicable, must also conform to the rules of the platform on which it is made.  In the event of a dispute concerning the identity of any Participant submitting a Subscriber Entry, the relevant Entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized holder of the applicable account used to enter.

  1. Winner Selection

On October 3, 2022, all qualifying Entries received during the Sweepstakes Period will be collected, and fifty winners will be randomly selected from the eligible Entries.  The drawing will be conducted under the direction of Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes.  Winning is contingent upon the Participant fulfilling all requirements of these Official Rules.  Actual odds of winning depend on the total number of Entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.

  1. Winner Notification

Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winning Participants via direct message to the applicable Participant’s e-mail or telephone number if no e-mail is available.  The potential winning Participant must respond within 24 hours after Sponsor’s first attempt to contact the Participant and must sign and return the Prize Verification Forms (defined below) within the time period indicated by Sponsor, otherwise the Prize will be forfeited.  In the event that a potential winning Participant cannot be contacted or does not respond within the designated period of time, such potential winning Participant will be disqualified and another potential winning Participant may be selected using the same procedures stated above from the remaining eligible Entries received or Sponsor may cancel the Sweepstakes in its sole discretion.

  1. Prize

Fifty winners will be selected from the qualifying Entries.  Each winner will receive the following items, referred to herein as the “Prize”:

THE PRIZE DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY TRANSPORTATION, PARKING, ACCOMMODATIONS, MEALS, CONCESSIONS, OR OTHER ITEMS OR COMPONENTS NOT EXPRESSLY LISTED ABOVE IN THIS SECTION 7.  THE WINNING PARTICIPANT IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING AND PAYING FOR ALL NECESSARY TRAVEL, PARKING, ACCOMMODATIONS, MEALS, CONCESSIONS, AND OTHER COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ATTENDING THE EVENT.

No transfer, substitution, or cash equivalent for a Prize is allowed except at Sponsor’s sole discretion.  Each Prize is non-transferable and may not be given, bartered, substituted, sold, or exchanged for cash or another prize.  Unused components of a Prize have no redeemable cash value.  Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any listed Prize for one of equal or greater value for any reason, including, but not limited to, cancellation of the Event or the imposition of capacity limitations by federal, state, or local authorities, or Fair Park.

  1. Winner Verification and Prize Conditions

The potential winning Participants will be required to sign and return to Sponsor any legal documents that Sponsor may require, including, but not limited to, a Winner’s Affidavit (which may contain a publicity release) (“Prize Verification Forms”), within the amount of time specified in the communication by which Sponsor delivers the Prize Verification Forms to the potential winning Participants.  If a potential winning Participant does not timely sign and return the Prize Verification Forms to Sponsor, or chooses not to accept the Prize, such potential winning Participant will be disqualified, and another potential winning Participant may be selected using the same procedures stated above from the remaining eligible Entries received or Sponsor may cancel the Sweepstakes in its sole discretion.

  1. General Conditions

In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Sweepstakes is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to, fraud, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized human intervention, or other technical problem, or in the event the Sweepstakes is unable to run as planned for any other reason, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the Sweepstakes to address the impairment and then resume the Sweepstakes in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules, (b) terminate the Sweepstakes and, in the event of termination, award the Prize at random from among the eligible, non-suspect Entries received up to the time of the impairment, or (c) cancel the Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to damage the platform or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages (including attorney’s fees) and any other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by Sponsor to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

  1. Publication and License

By submitting an Entry, each Participant: (a) represents and warrants to Sponsor that the Entry is an original work and that Participant owns all right, title, and interest in the Entry as of the date of submission, or that Participant has all necessary rights and authorizations to submit the Entry for possible use as provided herein, including the express permission of all individuals who appear in such Entry or whose content or materials appear or are embodied in the Entry; (b) represents and warrants to Sponsor that the Entry does not violate these Official Rules or infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity, or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity; and (c) grants to Sponsor an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, unlimited, freely transferable right and license to use, edit, modify, duplicate, license, and/or create derivative works from the Entry for any and all purposes, in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised.  In addition, and except as prohibited by law, each winning Participant of the Sweepstakes grants to Sponsor an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, unlimited, freely transferable license to print, publish, display, broadcast, distribute, reproduce, use, and otherwise exploit the Participant’s name, voice, statement, picture, or other likeness, without additional compensation, in any media now known or hereinafter known for any purpose whatsoever, including public relations, advertising, and promotional purposes, as may be determined by Sponsor.  Nothing herein will obligate Sponsor to make any use of any of the rights set forth herein.

  1. Content Restrictions

Participants must not include any of the following content (“Restricted Content”) in their Entries: (a) anything that is not in keeping with the reputation and image of Sponsor or its various brands of products and services; (b) anything that is obscene, indecent, or sexually explicit or suggestive; (c) anything that may be considered offensive to individuals of any age, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, or other protected class or to persons who are disabled; (d) anything that infringes, violates, or misappropriates any person’s or entity’s personal or proprietary rights (including copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights); (e) anything that defames or invades the publicity or privacy rights of any person, living or deceased; (f) any threats to any person, place, business, group, or entity; (g) anything that depicts illegal or violent acts; (h) anything that is libelous, hateful, or slanderous; (i) anything that depicts or references tobacco, alcohol, drugs, dangerous stunts, or weapons of any kind, including, but not limited to, guns, knives, or projectiles; and (j) any images of individuals under legal age of majority, except if the Participant has obtained a signed release from such individual’s parent or legal guardian.  Any Entry with Restricted Content shall be disqualified and ineligible to participate in or win the Sweepstakes.  The determination of whether content submitted by a Participant is Restricted Content will be made in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion and Sponsor’s determination that content is Restricted Content shall be final and binding in all respects.

  1. Release and Limitations of Liability

By participating in the Sweepstakes, Participants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, the companies identified in Section 13 below, and any other companies associated with the Sweepstakes, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim, cause of action, judgement, costs, damages, losses, expenses, and liabilities, whether arising under a theory of contract, warranty, tort, strict liability, product liability, or any other theory, that may be suffered by Participant or any third party as a result of participation in the Sweepstakes; acceptance, receipt, use or nonuse of a Prize (including any travel or activity related thereto); Sponsor’s use of Participant’s name, voice, statement, picture, or other likeness; or Sponsor’s use of the Entry as permitted hereunder (including, but not limited to, claims of false endorsement or infringement of rights of publicity or privacy), even if such harm is caused solely by the recklessness, negligence, or fault of one or more Released Parties.  The Released Parties are not responsible for any claims, damages, expenses, costs, or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting from or arising from or in connection with, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly: (a) any technical errors associated with the Sweepstakes, including lost, interrupted, or unavailable Internet Service Provider, network, server, wireless service provider, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone, cellular tower or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions, or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures, or difficulties; (b) unauthorized human intervention in the Sweepstakes; (c) mechanical, network, electronic, computer, human, printing, language-translation, or typographical errors; (d) application downloads, (e) any other errors or problems in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors that may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes, the announcement of the winning Participants, or the processing of Entries; or (f) injury, death, losses, or damages of any kind to persons or property that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance, receipt, or misuse of a Prize.  Participant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Sweepstakes, and in no event shall the Participant be entitled to receive attorneys’ fees. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes.  Participant waives all rights and claims to special, incidental, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages, whether foreseeable or not, and whether based on negligence or otherwise.  Some jurisdictions may not allow limitations or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages or exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to all Participants.  Check local laws for any restrictions or limitations regarding these limitations or exclusions.

  1. Third-Party Trademarks; Additional Releases and Disclaimers

Any third-party trademarks used in this promotion are the property of the respective trademark owners and are used for identification purposes only.  This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with such third parties unless specifically stated otherwise.  Without limiting the foregoing in any way, by participating in the Sweepstakes, Participants agree and acknowledge that the State Fair of Texas and Fair Park are not sponsors of this Sweepstakes.  Participants further agree to release and hold harmless the State Fair of Texas and Fair Park from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use of the Prize.

  1. Disputes

Except where prohibited by law, each Participant agrees that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Sweepstakes or any Prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Bexar County, Texas. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, Participant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of C.H. Guenther in connection with the Sweepstakes or any Entry, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Texas, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Texas.

  1. Privacy 

Information collected from Participants is subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy, which can be found at https://chg.com/privacy-policy/.  In addition, California residents may review their rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act at https://chg.com/california-consumer-privacy-act/.  By submitting an Entry, Participant consents to receiving communications about the Sweepstakes from Pioneer delivered to the e-mail address or phone number provided by Participant in the Entry.  If, as part of the Entry, Participant opts in to receive special offers, coupons, and other marketing messages about Pioneer products, then Participant’s information will also be used for that purpose, but subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy.

  1. Winner List

The names of the persons who submitted the winning Entries can be obtained by sending a request with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: C.H. Guenther & Son LLC, Attn: Customer Service, Pioneer’s State Fair of Texas Sweepstakes, 2201 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78215.  All requests must be received within 60 days after the Sweepstakes Period ends.

Bacon Coconut Cheese Gravy with a Hint of Chili

Ingredients

12 slices Bacon
3/4 cup Pioneer Roasted Pork Gravy Mix
1/2 cup Cold water
2 cups Coconut milk in a can (unsweetened)
1 cup Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3/8 teaspoon Crushed red pepper
12 Baked buttermilk biscuits for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until golden brown and crisp flipping once. Drain on paper towels then crumble 6 slices bacon (reserve the rest of 6 slices bacon).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together gravy mix and water until lump free.
  3. Put coconut milk into a large saucepan and heat over medium stirring occasionally until warmed up. Add the gravy mix to the saucepan and whisk until smooth.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low, add cheddar cheese to the saucepan and whisk until cheese melts.
  5. Add crushed red pepper and bacon crumble to the saucepan and stir.
  6. To serve, put biscuits (2 for each serving) on each serving plate. Pour the bacon coconut cheese gravy over the biscuits. Cut the reserved bacon slices into half then put 2 halved slices bacon over the top of each serving.

Briskets N' Gravy

Ingredients

Leftover brisket (or chuck roast)
Your favorite Texas Dry Rub or seasoning

  • Fiesta spices
  • Uncle Chris’s Steak Rub
  • Jalapeño Salt

2 cups Water
1 pkg Pioneer Peppered Gravy Mix
Bread/toast of your choice
Biscuits of your choice

Instructions

  1. Cut the chuck roast into about 1” – 1.5” cubes.
  2. Season with your favorite Texas Dry Rub or seasoning. This is using a combination of Fiesta Spices (Another Texas Company) Uncle Chris’s Steak Rub & Jalapeno Salt.
  3. Place on the smoker low and slow at 225F.
  4. Smoke until internal temperature is 165F, then place in a cast iron skillet and cover until the internal temp is 205F.
  5. Shred the smoked cubes and move the meat to the side. Remove the Au-jus
  6. Add in 1.5 cups of water and boil
  7. Mix the Pioneer Peppered Gravy Mix with ½ Cup of cold water.
  8. Pour this back into the skillet and let the gravy thicken.
  9. Add some more pepper if you want. Keep it low and slow in the skillet until it’s thickened to your liking.

For Texas Toast

  1. Take a little of the removed Au-Jus and place a little of this on the bread along with your favorite Texas dry rub seasoning
  2. Warm each side until the bread gets toasted slightly.

For Biscuits

  1. Use your favorite biscuit recipe or use store bought biscuits if necessary.

Creamy Pepper Pork & Butternut Porridge Oats with Apples

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Unsalted butter, divided
2 tablespoons Extra-virgin olive oil, divided
1 3/4 – 2 lbs Lean pork loin boneless, cut into 2-inch cubes
1 teaspoon Celery seeds
1/2 teaspoon each Salt and ground black pepper
2/3 cup Sweet red pepper, julienne cut
3 Shallots, peeled and sliced
1 pkg Pioneer Roasted Pork Gravy Mix (1.41 oz):

  • Plus for preparing gravy mix: 1 cup boiling water and 1 cup whole milk
  • Then, add prepared gravy: *1 cup Pioneer Roasted Pork Gravy Mix, prepared with half milk and half water

Butternut Porridge Oats with Apples
1 cup Water
1 cup Half and half
2 cups Quick one minute style oats
1 1/2 cups Prepared cooked butternut squash, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 1/4 cup Prepared cored and cooked granny smith or macintosh apples, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
1/2 to 1/4 teaspoon Freshly ground nutmeg
(*1 cup Pioneer Roasted Pork Gravy, prepared with half milk and half water)

Instructions

  1. Prepare creamy pepper pork. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon each butter and olive oil, over medium high heat. Add pork to heated skillet, and season with celery seeds, 1/2 teaspoon each salt and ground black pepper and cook 2 to 3 minutes, or until partially cooked, tossing and turning pork as needed. Add remaining 1 tablespoon each butter and olive oil, plus add red pepper and shallots, cook for additional minute to 1 1/2 minutes; tossing and turning red pepper, shallots with pork as needed; remove from heat temporarily. In a medium saucepan bring 1 cup water to a boil; then whisk in 1 cup milk along with contents of pork gravy mix; whisking just till gravy starts to thicken, remove gravy from heat. Pour half the pork gravy mixture, (1 cup) into cooked pepper pork, toss lightly to blend gravy, cover skillet with lid and place over heat on lowest setting to keep warm to simmer; set aside. Reserve remaining 1 cup pork gravy for butternut porridge oats with apples; set aside also.
  2. Prepare butternut porridge oats with apples. First prepare oats; bring 1 cup water and 1 cup half and half to a boil; reduce heat to medium heat and stir in oats, also add cinnamon and nutmeg, cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly as oatmeal starts to become creamy, remove from heat. Fold into blend butternut squash, apples and remaining 1 cup reserved pork gravy until porridge mixture is just combined and creamy. Keep porridge mixture warm.
  3. Prepare, assemble, and serve warm. Spoon and spread butternut porridge oats with apples into a medium casserole or baking dish and spoon to layer creamy pepper pork over top porridge mixture, serve and enjoy.

Gravy & Biscuit Bombs

Ingredients

1 pkg Pioneer Pepper Gravy Mix
1/2 lb Of your favorite breakfast sausage
1 can (large) Canned biscuits

Instructions

  1. Crumble and brown sausage, drain grease off 
  2. Prepare gravy mix per package instructions 
  3. Mix sausage and gravy together and allow to cool 
  4. Place 1 tablespoon into each ice tray compartment (I use small ice cube tray) 
  5. Freeze overnight 
  6. Preheat oven per biscuit instructions 
  7. Roll out biscuits flat until large enough to wrap around frozen sausage /gravy cube 
  8. Place seam side down on parchment lined cookie sheet and bake until golden brown 
  9. ENJOY

Country-Style Southwest Roasted Turkey Breast with Triple Pepper Brown Gravy

Ingredients

Turkey
3 tablespoons (from a 2.75 oz pkg) Pioneer Country Gravy Mix, divided use
1 tablespoon Melted unsalted butter
2 teaspoons Chili powder
2 teaspoons Paprika
1/2 teaspoon Dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon Ground cumin
1 teaspoon Salt
1 (3 lb) Frozen boneless skin-on turkey breast, thawed
Gravy
2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
1/2 cup Finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon Seeded and minced fresh red chili pepper
1 teaspoon Seeded and finely minced fresh poblano peppper
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Minced garlic
1 teaspoon Very finely snipped cilantro leaves
3/4 cup Chicken broth
1/2 cup Reserved drippings from turkey
1 (1.61 oz pkg) Pioneer Brown Gravy Mix
1/2 cup Cool water
1/4 cup Heavy cream
*** A 4-4 1/2 lb bone-in turkey breast may be substituted. Cook to 165 degrees.

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 
  2. For turkey, put 1 tablespoon Country Gravy Mix in a 16×17.5-inch oven bag. Shake to coat bag. 
  3. Place remaining Country Gravy Mix in a small bowl. Add chili powder, paprika, oregano, cumin, and salt. Stir to combine. 
  4. On a work surface, brush melted butter evenly over turkey breast. Sprinkle Country Gravy Mix mixture evenly over turkey breast. Place, skin side up, in oven bag. Tie the bag then cut 4-5 slits in top of bag. Place in a 13×9-inch baking dish. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until internal temperature of turkey reaches 165 degrees when checked with a meat thermometer. Remove from oven. 
  5. Increase oven to broil at 450 degrees. 
  6. Remove ½ cup of drippings from turkey to a small bowl to use for gravy. 
  7. Cut open top of bag to expose turkey skin. Place 5-6 inches under broiler for a few minutes to brown skin, watching carefully. Remove from oven and tent with foil to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. 
  8. While turkey is resting, make gravy. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add onion, red chile pepper, and poblano pepper. Cook for 4-5 minutes until vegetables soften, stirring often. 
  9. Reduce heat to medium. Sprinkle with black pepper. Add garlic and cilantro leaves. Cook 1 minute more, stirring constantly. Stir in chicken broth and reserved turkey drippings. 
  10. In a small bowl, stir Brown Gravy Mix and water together until smooth. Stir into mixture in skillet. Cook until thickened, stirring often. Stir in heavy cream. Remove from heat. 
  11. To serve, slice turkey into ¼-inch thick slices. Place 2-3 slices on each serving plate then drizzle with a small amount of gravy. Garnish as desired. Serve with additional gravy on the side.

Deep Dish Mini Pot Pies

Ingredients

Roasted Chicken
4 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup Lawry’s Season Salt
Olive oil cooking spray
Mini Pot Pies
2 packages (15 oz) Refrigerated pie crust, softened as directed on box
1 stick (1/2 cup) Unsalted butter
1/2 cup Medium onion, diced
1 cup Yukon Gold potatoes, finely chopped
8 oz White mushrooms, roughly chopped
1- 1.67 oz package Pioneer Roasted Chicken Gravy, prepared per package instructions
1/4 cup All purpose flour
1 cup Milk
1 teaspoon Thyme
2 cloves (1 teaspoon) Minced garlic
1 cup Frozen peas and carrots
2 cups Roasted chicken, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 
  2. Spray large baking pan with cooking spray. Add chicken and sprinkle with ½ of the Lawry’s Season Salt. Roast for 20 minutes. Flip chicken. Sprinkle on the remaining Lawry’s Season Salt. Bake another 20-30 minutes until temp reaches 165 degrees F. Remove from oven. Cool 20 minutes and then cube enough chicken to measure 2 cups. 
  3. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the onions and potatoes. Cook stirring often (approx. 8 mins) until the onions and potatoes are tender. Stir in the mushrooms and cook 2 mins. more. Stir in the prepared Pioneer Roasted Chicken gravy. Continue stirring while slowly adding in the flour and then the milk. Heat to boiling. Boil and stir 2 minutes more and then remove from heat. Add the Thyme and garlic and then add the peas and carrots and the chicken and mix well. Remove from heat. 
  4. Roll out the pie crusts. Cut twelve 6-inch circles from the crust. Using your fingers shape crust circles into six 6-inch oven-safe souffle ramekins. Spoon filling into each ramekin. Cut a small hole in the center of each remaining dough circle and then cover each pie, crimping edges. Bake 20 minutes. Then cover edges of each pie with mini pie crust shields to protect crust from burning. Bake another 20-25 mins more until bubbly and crust is browned.

Creamy Potato Dumpling & Ham Soup

Ingredients

2 strips Thick bacon, diced
1/2 cup Small diced ham
1 small White onion, minced
1 teaspoon Minced Garlic
1/2 teaspoon White pepper
1/2 cup Small diced carrot (or baby carrot circles)
1/2 cup Small diced yellow bell pepper
2 tablespoons Fresh orange juice
1- 14 oz can Diced tomatoes
1- 32 oz box Chicken broth
1 packet Pioneer Brown Gravy Mix
1/2 cup Hot water
1- 15 oz can Black-eyed peas, drained
1- 16 oz package Prepared potato gnocchi (dumplings)
2 teaspoons Butter
Freshly chopped Italian parsley
Freshly zested orange rind

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon, ham, and onion together in a large saucepan. 
  2. When bacon starts to crisp, stir in garlic, white pepper, carrot and bell pepper and tomatoes (do not drain). 
  3. Cook on low heat for 10 minutes then stir in orange juice and chicken broth. 
  4. In a small bowl, whisk the gravy mix with hot water and add to soup pot. 
  5. Meanwhile, prepare potato gnocchi per box directions. Drain and transfer to a bowl along with the butter; stir well. 
  6. Add gnocchi to soup and gently simmer an additional 5 minutes. 
  7. Divide between pasta bowls and garnish with parsley and orange zest. 
  8. Serve with a loaf of crusty bread, if desired.

Mom's Meat Pie

Ingredients

2 lbs Ground beef
1 cup Chopped Onion
1 8 oz container White whole mushrooms, sliced
1 package Pioneer Roasted Beef Gravy
2 cups Water
1 Tbs Olive Oil
1- 15 oz package Refrigerated pie crusts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C)
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium high heat and add in onion. Cook for approximately 4 minutes until the onions start to become translucent. Add in sliced mushroom and continue to cook for another approximate 4 minutes. Set aside onion and mushroom mixture into a separate bowl.
  3. In same skillet, crumble ground beef. Season with salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring to crumble the meat and to mix in salt and pepper, until the meat is evenly browned. Remove from heat.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the Pioneer Roasted Beef Gravy by following package directions. Once prepared, use one cup of the prepared Pioneer gravy, and stir into the ground beef mixture. Add in half of the mushroom and onion mixture and still until well combined.
  5. Place one of the pie crusts into a 9-inch pie plate. Fill with the meat mixture, then top with the other pie crust. Prick the top crust a few times with a knife to vent steam. Crimp around the edges using fingers or tines of a fork and remove any excess dough. Cover the edges of the pie crust with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the crust has browned.
  7. Combine the remaining prepared Pioneer Roasted Beef Gravy with the remaining mushroom and onion mixture. Stir over low heat until heated through.
  8. Slice the pie and serve with Pioneer gravy.
  9. Enjoy!
