Butterscotch Oat Scones Recipe

Ingredients
2 cups Pioneer® Original Biscuit & Baking Mix or Pioneer Buttermilk Biscuit & Baking Mix
1 cup quick oats
1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
¼ tsp salt
½ cup butter or margarine, chilled, cut into pieces
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup butterscotch baking chips
These Butterscotch Oat Scones are made with Pioneer Original or Buttermilk Baking Mix for the perfectly tender scone base that comes together in minutes and delivers bakery-quality flavor with every buttery, butterscotch-studded bite.
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep Sheet
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet
- Blend Dry Ingredients
Blend together Buttermilk Baking Mix oats, brown sugar, and salt. Add butter and mix until the mixture looks like fine granules.
- Form the Dough
Add vanilla to milk, pour over dry mixture, and stir until a soft dough forms, about 1 minute. Stir in butterscotch chips.
- Drop and Bake Scones
Drop by 1/4 cupful onto a nonstick baking sheet. Bake 16-19 minutes until medium brown on top. Cool on wire rack.
