Salisbury Steak Meatballs Recipe

Salisbury Steak Meatballs deliver all the deep, savory satisfaction of classic Salisbury steak in a format that is faster, easier, and just as good — tender beef meatballs seasoned with Worcestershire and ketchup, cooked through in a rich brown gravy that thickens up around them and begs to be served over mashed potatoes or egg noodles. This is the weeknight comfort dinner that never disappoints.

Ingredients

1 lb Ground Beef
1/3 cup Italian Bread Crumbs
1/4 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Milk
1 pkg Pioneer® Brown Gravy Mix
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 cup Ketchup

These Salisbury Steak Meatballs use Pioneer Brown Gravy Mix for the rich, deeply savory pan sauce that gives these classic beef meatballs the slow-cooked Salisbury steak flavor every bite deserves.

Instructions

  1. Mix the Meatball Base

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Italian bread crumbs, salt, and milk and knead until combined.

  2. Form the Meatballs

Form mixture into 2 ounce meatballs and set aside.

  3. Heat Oil in Dutch Oven

In a Dutch oven medium heat, add vegetable oil. Heat oil until shimmering.

  4. Brown the Meatballs

Add meatballs and brown lightly on all sides, about 5 minutes.

  5. Whisk the Gravy Sauce

In a separate container, whisk together Pioneer® Brown Gravy Mix, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and 2 cups water.

  6. Pour Sauce Over Meatballs

Pour mixture over meatballs and slowly bring to a simmer.

  7. Simmer Until Cooked Through

Allow to simmer for 10-15 minutes or until meatballs are fully cooked.
