Savory Braised Pork Chops Recipe

Savory Braised Pork Chops are the stovetop dinner that turns an affordable cut into something restaurant-worthy — thick pork loin chops seared in a hot pan and finished in a rich, wine-enriched brown gravy with caramelized onions and tender carrots that braise down until impossibly soft. This is the kind of weeknight cooking that makes everyone glad to sit down at the table.

Ingredients

1 tbsp Blended Oil
4 Pork Loin Chops, thick cut
1 tsp Minced Garlic
1/2 cup Dry red wine
2 tbsp Butter
1 pkg Pioneer® Brown Gravy Mix, prepared
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 onion, fine diced
2 carrots, fine diced

These Savory Braised Pork Chops use Pioneer Brown Gravy Mix as the base for the rich, wine-infused braising sauce that keeps every thick-cut pork chop juicy and coats them in a deeply savory gravy worth every bite.

Instructions

  1. Sear and Sauté Aromatics

In a large saute pan sear pork chops on each side for 2-3 minutes over a medium to high flame. Remove the pork chops from the pan, add the garlic and cook for a minute adding the carrots and onions. Cook for an additional 4 minutes before deglazing with the red wine.

  2. Reduce the Red Wine

Turn the heat to medium and reduce the red wine till very little liquid remains in the pan.

  3. Simmer and Finish Gravy

Cover the Pioneer Brown Gravy and season with salt and pepper to taste. Let simmer for 5 minutes before cutting off the heat and serving. Optionally you can fold in additional butter to add extra richness to the finished dish. Garnish with parsley.
