Smothered Pork Chops with Turkey Gravy Recipe
Turkey Gravy Smothered Pork Chops might just be the most satisfying thing you can put on the dinner table on a weeknight — tender, pan-seared pork chops under a blanket of thick, golden gravy that soaks into everything it touches. This is the kind of dish that makes the whole family go quiet in the best possible way.

Ingredients
2 cups water
1 pkg Roasted Turkey Gravy Mix
4 bone-in pork chops, about 1-inch thick
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 large yellow onion, chopped
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
These Smothered Pork Chops with Turkey Gravy use Pioneer® Turkey Gravy Mix for the silky, full-bodied sauce that takes a simple pork chop from ordinary to something worth a second helping.
Instructions
- Make the Turkey Gravy
Combine water and Pioneer Turkey Gravy Mix in a saucepan and whisk until smooth. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 minute until thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Season the Pork Chops
Season pork chops on all sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.
- Sear the Pork Chops
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork chops until golden-brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook the Onion
Add onion to skillet and cook until tender and translucent, about 4-5 minutes. Return pork chops to skillet and cover with gravy.
- Simmer and Serve
Bring gravy to a simmer and stir in butter and Worcestershire sauce. Cover, and simmer on low heat until pork is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of at least 145°F, about 15-20 minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve.
